Minnal Murali Finally Indian Cinema Get Our own Superhero (Tovino Thomas)

 Tovino Thomas actor who played the character of Minnal Murli in (an Indian Malayalam-language superhero film never imagine that one day this low budget superhero movie impress the audience worldwide and get praised by top industry critics.

Minnal Murli was directed by Basil Joseph and the story was written by Arun Anirudhan and Justin Mathew. The film stars Tovino Thomas and Guru Somasundaram. It follows the life of Jaison, a young tailor who gains superpowers after being struck by lightning and transforms into a superhero.

Minnal Murli was released directly through the streaming platform Netflix on 24 December 2021, in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi, and English languages.

The small-town boy Minnal Murli who is working as a tailor and dreams to go foreign country to be famous suddenly got superhero power by lightning from the sky, the same intensity of power got by the villain (Guru Somasundaram) who also come out from a difficult situation.

The story is very well written and every character takes time to build up to support the rising of the superhero Minnal Murli (Jaison). The VFX of the movie matches with the international standard with intense background music and many happy and emotional scene which can connect the audience in a larger way. The SCI-FI superhero movie got an IMDB rating of 8.5.

S. R. Praveen of The Hindu described the film as a “feel-good bolt from the sky” and noted that “despite banking on familiar superhero tropes, Basil Joseph and Tovino Thomas ensure that their film has a character of its own.”

 Writing for Hindustan Times, Devarsi Ghosh wrote that Minnal Murali has “finally cracked the superhero formula for India.” He appreciated the film’s characterization, humor, performances, score, and technical aspects calling it “a technical triumph at every turn,” while also observing that the film “has the capacity to not just spawn a franchise, but perhaps even become an international hit.”
